"This is a dream come true. By the time I reached 40 years old, I started praying that one day I would be able to better myself physically. The bad teeth, the wrinkles, the bags around my eyes and the sagging body .... I just hated myself! By the time I turned 50, I told my sister that I guess my dream would forever just be a fantasy.! There was no way that I would ever be able to afford to have the work done on my own. With all the expense of taking care of a Down Syndrome child, I just decided that it was not in the cards for me. One afternoon on Channel 4's broadcast, I heard the announecment of the Music City Makeover and knew that it was my one and only chance of living my dream. I still cannot believe that I was chosen. I just keep thinking that I am going to wake up and its not going to be real. My family and friends know that this is the only thing in the world that I have ever wanted for myself. I do not believe that even the Doctors that chose me realize what this means to me. To say THANK you will never be enough. But I do THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE NEW ME!!!! "

"People tell me all the time if they knew they would have lived this long they would have taken better care of themselves. Being selected for this gives me a chance to not be one of those regretful people. I get a second chance to be in good physical health, and a first chance to improve the things I have never liked.
I never expected to be selected when I entered and sometimes it feels too good to be true, but I am looking forward to beeing looked at in the future.
